Portable power stations have become essential gear for campers, emergency preparedness, and remote workers. Jackery and EcoFlow are the two most popular brands, each with loyal followings. We tested the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 and EcoFlow DELTA 2 side-by-side for a month across camping trips, home backup scenarios, and daily use.

    Capacity and Output

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2: 1,070Wh capacity, 1,500W continuous output (2,000W surge). LiFePO4 battery chemistry with 3,000 cycle lifespan. Two AC outlets, two USB-C (100W max), two USB-A.

EcoFlow DELTA 2: 1,024Wh capacity, 1,800W continuous output (2,700W surge with X-Boost). LiFePO4 battery chemistry with 3,000+ cycle lifespan. Six AC outlets, two USB-C (100W max), two USB-A, car outlet.

The EcoFlow offers higher output wattage and more AC outlets — six versus two. The X-Boost technology can power devices up to 2,400W by intelligently reducing voltage, handling high-wattage devices like hair dryers and power tools that the Jackery cannot.

Winner: EcoFlow DELTA 2 for output power and port count.

    Charging Speed

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2: AC wall charging from 0-80% in approximately 60 minutes with the included 200W charger. Full charge in 90 minutes. Solar input up to 500W.

EcoFlow DELTA 2: AC wall charging from 0-80% in 50 minutes using the built-in X-Stream charging (up to 1,200W input). Full charge in 80 minutes. Solar input up to 500W.

EcoFlow's X-Stream Technology is the brand's standout feature. The DELTA 2 charges from a wall outlet faster than any competitor, and it does so using only the included AC cable — no separate charging brick needed.

Winner: EcoFlow DELTA 2 for charging speed.

    Weight and Portability

Jackery: 25.4 lbs with an integrated handle. Orange-and-black design is highly visible.

EcoFlow: 27 lbs with two folding handles. Gray-and-black design is more subdued.

Both are car-camping appropriate but too heavy for any significant hiking. The Jackery's single handle is slightly less comfortable for carrying than EcoFlow's dual handles.

Winner: Jackery for weight. EcoFlow for carrying comfort.

    App and Connectivity

Jackery: WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity with the Jackery app. Basic monitoring: battery percentage, input/output wattage, and estimated runtime.

EcoFlow: WiFi and Bluetooth with the EcoFlow app. Advanced features: remote power on/off, scheduled charging, customizable AC charging speed, and firmware updates. The app is more feature-rich and better designed.

Winner: EcoFlow DELTA 2 for app experience.

    Solar Performance

Both accept up to 500W of solar input. We tested both with a Jackery SolarSaga 100W panel (compatible with both via adapter). Performance was comparable — approximately 75-85W average output in direct sunlight for both units.

Note: EcoFlow sells its own solar panels that optimize performance with EcoFlow power stations via a proprietary connector.

Winner: Tie for solar charging. EcoFlow for ecosystem integration.

    Build Quality and Durability

Both units feel solidly built. The Jackery uses a more ruggedized aesthetic with reinforced corners. The EcoFlow has a cleaner design with better ventilation grating. After a month of camping use (dust, minor bumps, temperature variation), both performed without issues.

    Winner: Tie.

    Price

    Jackery Explorer 1000 v2: $799-899 EcoFlow DELTA 2: $799-999

Comparable pricing with the EcoFlow sometimes commanding a $50-100 premium.

Winner: Jackery for typical street price.

Buy the EcoFlow DELTA 2 if: You need faster wall charging, more AC outlets, higher output wattage, and a more capable app for monitoring and control.

For most camping and emergency backup use cases, the EcoFlow DELTA 2 offers more features at a comparable price. The Jackery wins on brand trust and simplicity. Both are excellent choices with 3,000+ cycle LiFePO4 batteries that will last a decade.
