Camera Quality

The 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with f/1.7 aperture captures 48MP photos and 4K video at up to 100fps. For a sub-250g drone, these specs are remarkable. Daylight footage is sharp, well-exposed, and rich in color. The 4K 60fps mode is the sweet spot for most users — smooth enough for cinematic moves while retaining excellent detail.

Low-light performance is the area where the Mini 4 Pro's small sensor shows limitations. Footage after sunset is usable but noticeably noisier than the larger-sensor DJI Air 3. For golden hour and daytime shooting, the difference is minimal.

The 10-bit D-Log M color profile provides flexibility for color grading in post-production, giving enthusiasts pro-level creative control.

Obstacle Avoidance

The Mini 4 Pro features omnidirectional obstacle sensing — forward, backward, upward, downward, and sideways. In our testing, it reliably detected and avoided trees, buildings, power lines, and even thin branches. The avoidance system is not infallible (fast-moving objects can catch it off guard), but it provides critical peace of mind for beginners.

Select a subject and MasterShots automatically executes a series of cinematic moves — orbit, dolly zoom, rocket, dronie — and compiles them into an edited video with music. The results are surprisingly polished for zero-effort content creation.

Waypoints and Hyperlapse

Program a flight path and the Mini 4 Pro repeats it precisely, enabling time-lapse sequences and repeatable shots for real estate, construction progress, or creative projects.

Flight Performance

Maximum flight time is rated at 34 minutes. Our real-world testing in moderate wind (10-15 mph) yielded consistent 28-30 minute flights. In calm conditions, we hit 32 minutes. The extended-life Intelligent Flight Battery (Fly More combo) provides three batteries for approximately 90 minutes of total flight time.

The Mini 4 Pro handles wind surprisingly well for its weight. It remained stable in sustained 20 mph winds, though it struggled in gusts above 25 mph. For most recreational conditions, it is more than capable.

Maximum range via OcuSync O4 transmission is 20km (12.4 miles). We tested to 5km without signal degradation. The live 1080p feed from the drone to the controller remained sharp and responsive throughout.
