Apple AirPods Pro 2 Review After Daily Use

We've used the AirPods Pro 2 as our primary earbuds for months. Here's what the spec sheet doesn't tell you.

The Good

Active Noise Cancellation on the AirPods Pro 2 is remarkably effective for earbuds this small. The H2 chip processes external sound in real-time and the result is a noticeable drop in ambient noise — subway rumble, office chatter, airplane drone all fade to a whisper.

Transparency mode is the best we've tested. It sounds so natural you forget the earbuds are in. Conversation Awareness automatically lowers media volume and enhances voices when you start talking — genuinely useful.

Spatial Audio with head tracking creates an immersive experience when watching video content. It's less useful for music but impressive for movies and shows on your phone or iPad.

The Not-So-Good

Battery life is good but not great — 6 hours with ANC enabled. If you're on back-to-back calls all day, you'll need to charge midday. The case provides 30 hours total, which helps.

The silicone ear tips collect earwax and need weekly cleaning. The included XS/S/M/L sizes fit most ears, but if you're between sizes, the fit isn't as secure during vigorous exercise compared to earbuds with foam tips or wingtips.

Who Should Buy These

iPhone users who want the best integration, most natural Transparency mode, and industry-leading ANC in a compact form factor. Android users should look elsewhere — Spatial Audio, Conversation Awareness, and seamless device switching all require Apple devices.
